Face Claim's Name: James Marsden
Name: Scott Summers
Alias: Cyclops
Race: Mutant
Age: 25
Birthday: 08/01/1989
Alignment: Lawful Good
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 196 lbs
Hair:Brown
Eyes:Brown
Training: Aikido, Judo,
Inventory: Special ruby quartz lenses sunglasses, visor, special gloves with buttons to activate visor
Description
Physique: Athletic, toned
Appearance: Uniform, solid black body suit with gold lining, hood, golden boots and bracers, and X symbol over his left pectoral.
Civilian: Button up shirts with rolled sleeves, long sleeve turtle neck shirts, t-shirts, slacks, loafers, jeans, sneakers and boots.
Personality: Scott is a quiet, almost introverted, stoic and cold individual when not engaging in training or combat. Having lost his parents at a young age and believing his younger brother to be dead, endured hardships at the orphanage that which took him in, left him damaged and pulled back from the world. The manifestation of his powers only pulled him inside himself even more for fear of the damage he could cause and the good people that he was at risk of hurting. A semblance of salvation came when Charles Xavier found him, brought him to his school, and dubbed Scott as the "First X-Man." His ability to lead noticed by the Professor, Scott devoted himself to the training and work placed before him by the man that had given him some form of happiness. As a leader, Scott can be short and abrasive at best to rude. His stern demeanor grew from the training he received. Cyclops knows that, in the field, he must be a leader first. That places him responsible for making the best, not most popular, decisions. Privately, Scott fears that he will fail those that depend on him. He know full well that the lives and well-being of the X-Men are in his hands when in the field where a wrong decision can lead to serious injury and loss of life. Although accepting that he will one day face the choice of sacrificing the few for the many, he worries and privately prays it never comes. The lack of control over his optic blasts always keeps a sense of foreboding on his shoulders. One slip up with his sunglasses or visor and his eyelids not able to close in time would lead to whatever, or more importantly whoever, in the beam's path to suffer injury. Keeping his misgivings private, his temperament can seem cold to others which has damaged his personal relationship and interactions with others at the school.
Character Time Line
Character Origin (part 1): Comic
Character Origin (Part 2): Explain your adaptation of part 1 into this group RP. Keep me mind, we're not looking for copy cats from Marvel, we want originality and creativity. This RP has the X-Men founded in 2016, that means all characters must be developed and scaled to this timeline
Year 1 (2001)
-Lost his parents to plane crash. Suffers severe head trauma from striking a rock when hitting the ground from the parachute drop.
-Slips into a coma when taken into the hospital.
-Awakens as his optic blasts first manifest, destroying the roof of the hospital. Slips back into a coma.
Year 2 (2002 - 2009)

-Undergoes extensive tests by the owner of the orphanage. Bullied by his roommate.
-Begins suffering severe headaches and he begins seeing a specialist.
-Finds friendship with a boy named Nate and a caretaker at the orphanage known as Robyn Hanover.
-Another orphan, Toby, begins bullying Nate and Scott. Robyn takes a personal interest in Scott to learn about and find him a family.
-Toby commits suicide by jumping off of the roof. Scott tries and fails to save him.
-Robyn finds a family for Scott. They tragically die in a plane crash after expressing interest in adopting him.
-At 17, his powers almost fully manifest. His specialist gives him his first set of special sunglasses.
- Robyn is dismissed from the orphanage. Nate now begins to bully Scott.
-Scott runs away. Begins living on the streets.
Year 3 (2011)
-Scott accidentally blasts off a crane arm over bystanders. He blasts it away and saves all, but mutant hate forces him to flee.
-The crane incident caught on camera allows the criminal Jack O' Diamonds to begin hunting down Scott.
-Found by Jack, Scott and his powers are used to go on a crime spree of robberies.
Year 4 (2012)
-Found and saved from Jack 'O Diamonds by Xavier. First to be brought into the fold.
-Training as the X-Men's team and field leader begins.
Significant relationships
Charles Xavier - Professor Xavier is the best and most solid thing that Scott has had in his life since the loss of his parents. Having spend most of his life without a family, the Professor is the closest thing that he has to one and he gives the man his utmost love and appreciate like he would have his own blood father. He is devoted to the cause of fighting for and finding peace between mutants and mankind.
Mr. Sinister - Although Scott does not know it, Sinister was the cause of much of his hellish life. He was the man that had him sent to the orphanage, which he secretly set up. He was the administrator that constantly tested him. The bully Toby only begin attacking Scott by Sinister's manipulation. The Bogarts, family that wished to adopt Scott, died due to Sinister's machinations. Sinister was the specialist that tested him for his headaches and gave him the glasses. Arguably worst of all, he was also Nate and therefore his first friend and final tormentor.
Powers / Abilities
Optic Blast - Optic Blast: Cyclops possesses the mutant ability to project a powerful beam of concussive, ruby-colored force from his eyes. His powers originate from a non-Einsteinian universe that opens up whenever he uses his optic blasts with Scott's eyes functioning as inter-dimensional apertures that release the powerful energies of this universe into his own via the beams.
Cyclops' mind has a particular psionic field that is attuned to the forces that maintain the apertures that have taken the place of his eyes. Because his mind's psionic field envelops his body, it automatically shunts the other-dimensional particles back into their point of origin when they collide with his body. Thus, he is protected from the effects of the particles, and even the thin membrane of his eyelids is sufficient to block the emission of energy. The synthetic ruby quartz crystal used to fashion the lenses of Cyclops' eyeglasses and visor is resonant to his minds' psionic field and is similarly protected.
The width of Cyclops' eye-blasts seems to be focused by his mind's psionic field with the same autonomic function that regulated his original eyes' ability to focus. As Cyclops focuses, the size of the aperture changes and thus act as a valve to control the flow of particles and beam's relative power. The height of Cyclops' eye-blast is controlled by his visor's adjustable slit. His narrowest beam, about the diameter of a pencil at a distance of 4 feet has a force of about two pounds per square inch. His broadest beam, about 90 feet across at a distance of fifty feet, has a force of about 10 pounds per square inch.
Scott's optic blasts are able to punch through mountains, level punch through Sentinels, and even pierce through the Blob.
His blasts travel at the speed of light, however, regardless of their speed it is still possible to dodge his attacks. Not only must Cyclops turn his head and neck at a target (his eyes do not control the direction) before firing, he has to activate his visor and the built in servos must open the lenses to allow the energy to be unleashed. This delay allows time to avoid being struck and explains why, however fast his beams may travel, they can be avoided.
Energy Resistance - Scott is immune to his own powers. Should his beam strike him anywhere on his body, the psionic field will shunt the energy back to its starting universe.
Spatial Awareness - Cyclops possesses an uncanny sense of trigonometry, in this sense used to describe his observation of objects around himself and the angles found between surfaces of these objects. Cyclops has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to cause his optic blasts to ricochet and/or reflect off those objects in a trajectory to his liking. This is commonly called a "banked shot" when applied to this talent. Cyclops can shoot his beams to reflect from over a dozen surfaces in the course of one blast, and still hit his intended target accurately. It is his sense of superhumanly enhanced spatial awareness that allows him to perform these feats as well.
Piloting - Cyclops is an expert pilot of fixed-wing aircraft, a skill he appears to have inherited from his father. It has also been implied that his trigonometric sense improves his abilities in the air.
Leadership - Professor Xavier recruited Scott Summers to specifically to lead the X-Men, sensing that he possessed a strong combination of analytical intelligence and tactical brilliance. Although quite capable, he has yet to be tested. Cyclops' leadership skills are at their best in tense situations. The less time he has to think about a decision, the better it tends to be.
Hand-to-Hand - As an X-Man, Cyclops has undergone intensive training since his teens to become the ideal mutant warrior. He is a superb athlete and martial artist with extensive training in hand-to-hand combat, holding black belts in judo and aikido. His skill is great enough for Scott to hold his own against the likes of Wolverine and other superhumans.
Weaknesses
Power Regulation - Scott is unable to control his power and is reliant on his visor and sunglasses to hold back the power of his optic blasts when he is awake. To keep him from accidentally opening his eyes while sleeping, he has undergone a combination of hypnotherapy and meditation.
Recharge - Although his eyes act as a portal to the dimension of energy that his blasts come from, they can grow strained and tired. Scott can exert his powers at maximum for one hour before the energy released is nothing more than a red steam and he requires another 15 minutes for longer to be able to use his powers again. (The length of time he is able to exert himself and recharge is variable depending on his physical health.)
Audition Post
Scott stared at the screen in front of him, watching as the team went about the maneuvers in the danger room. Each performed their tasks dutifully but there was something missing about each of them. Storm was holding back a bit. Gambit was showing off. Rogue seemed afraid to test herself. Kitty was being too playful. Then he looked at himself and the fact that he was missing all of this. The pad of his finger tapped a key on the keyboard and eyes closed behind his sunglasses. None of it was good enough. If any of them made these kinds of mistakes in the field, when it was no longer training, they would be at risk. Scott was even more upset that he had not seen this himself. How could he have missed it? It was his responsibility to keep everyone in check and make sure that they all came home safe and sound, but he had overlooked these factors. Rewinding the recording, he watched it again, focusing on himself this time. Scott could tell that he was focused and yet he could not understand how he missed what was going on around him with his team.
Pressing his lips together, he closed the video and stood up from the desk before making his way out of the programming section of the danger room. He slipped his hands into the pockets of his slacks as he made his way through the lower section of the mansion and back up the elevator into the school proper. Stepping out, he took account of everything around his position while walking down the wall, passing the living room where two younger students were talking about how bright the day was. He wouldn't know. For nearly a decade, his world had been nothing but red. Scott still had his memory of colors and what they looked like, but was never able to see them anymore. The ruby quartz sunglasses glasses which held back and protected the world from his powers kept him in a single color world. As he turned into the kitchen to grab something to drink, he found himself barreled over by a pair of younger students. The rambunctious and force run they were in caused him to stumble back as his glasses were knocked from his face. His gut twisted as the lids of his eyes immediately slammed shut, teeth clenching together as he reached out in a blind attempt to grab them. Silence was all he heard for a moment until a small voice spoke out, "H-...here you go Mr. Summers. We're...we're sorry..." Feeling the arm placed into his reaching hand, Scott ran a forefinger and thumb over the lenses, checking for cracks, before placing them back over his face and opening his eyes. His gaze was greeted by a pair of small kids holding a kite, but the way they looked up at him made them appear almost mice-like. A sigh touched his lips as he stared down at them, "Go on..." They crept by his leg and moved slowly down the hall before breaking into a run, "And don't play with kites inside!"
